Filmmaker Anurag Basu, who is re-teaming with Ranbir Kapoor for a biopic on Kishore Kumar, believes that the young star is the perfect choice to give life to the versatility of legendary singer and actor on the screen.
Ranbir and Basu previously worked together in the hit film Barfi!.
The 30-year-old actor Wake Up Sid is busy with two films back-to-back for Anurag Basu is set to begin filming the biopic next year.
"Ranbir is very special. Share a special bond and it's not just me. He is very friendly with other directors too.'s Easy, effortless, one person team and delivered by full-time writer and director. Not too in love with himself, which I think is a rare thing in an actor, "Anurag Basu told PTI on the sidelines of the early Indian Film Awards.
The director is working closely with the family Kishore # # Q # # s in the biopic, which is still in the stage of writing and research. Basu says Ranbir was always the first choice to play Kishore.
"We have finalized the script while working on Barfi!. I was working on two scripts at the time and Ranbir came on board," he said.
Kishore Kumar is known as one of the most talented but difficult legends of Indian cinema and Q # # # # s Basu fascinated him to explore his personality in a movie.
"I'm a big fan of Kishore Kumar.'ve Known him through his interviews and movies, but he is much more than that. There are so many layers to your personality. I think it would be interesting to make a biopic about him," said Anurag Basu .
Meanwhile, the director hopes that Priyanka Chopra Wins Award for Best Actress in TOIFA for Barfi!.
"Barfi! Being nominated in different categories, so I'm excited and nervous because we do not celebrate each other # # # # Q s success in the industry. But my victory or Ranbir Q # # # # s victory, hope Priyanka gets a prize this time.
"I was hoping we would get a national award, but that did not happen. I can # # # # Q t say much about it because I have not seen the films that won national awards. Neither got a Filmfare award so I'm hoping she wins TOIFA "said Anurag Basu.
